Cloud Software Engineer with Java, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD

The Cloud Software Engineer with Java will work, within the team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. The company is seeking a self-motivated Cloud Software Engineer with Java who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The Cloud Software Engineer with Java must be able to work independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Cloud Software Engineer Basic Qualifications:

– Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
– Candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
– A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired, which will be considered equivalent to 2 years of experience. A Master’s degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to 4 years of experience. Note: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
– Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc.) and have some experience with Map Reduce programming models and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.).
– Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.

Cloud Software Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

– Familiarity with microservices software development techniques and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
– One of the following certifications required: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Elastic Certified Engineer.
