Java Software Developer, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD

The Java Software Developer will work with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. We are looking for a self-motivated Java Software Developer who proactively completes tasks with strong attention to detail. The Java Software Developer must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The Java Software Developer will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements. Minimally, the Java Software Developer should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and have some experience with Map Reduce programming models and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.). Additional knowledge of Linux development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible can benefit the candidate. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Java Software Developer Qualifications:

– Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
– Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 5 years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
– 20 years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
– Need a strong Java Developer that also has experience with Kubernetes, Hadoop, MariaDB (or similar), Map Reduce programming model (such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig), Docker, Python, and Ansible.
– Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications.
– Experience in Java programming for distributed systems, that includes networking and multi-threading.
– Experience with the following skills is highly desired: Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo, Apache Zookeeper, Apache NiFi, Java Programming, and HAProxy.
– Linux operating system monitoring and tuning.
– Linux operating system level virtualization.
– Experience with Open Source application.
– Agile development experience.
