Linux Systems Engineer

-Work collaboratively with technology teams and business leaders to expand, enhance, and improve ultra-low latency trading infrastructure.
-Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure systems.
-Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools.
-Develop and maintain configuration management solutions.
-Build out test automation framework in collaboration with the team.
-Create tools to help teams optimize on the available infrastructure.
-Drive change by taking ownership of tasks from beginning to end and employing creative solutions within various areas of the stack to reinforce better, faster technology.
-Analyze complex technical issues as well as proactively creating solutions.
-Problem solvers who are driven, self-motivated, and outside of the box thinkers.
-3+ years of experience.
-Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
-Experience with Linux servers working in bare metal and virtualized environments.
-Extensive experience monitoring systems using nagios, zabbix, monit.
-Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux and Python scripting languages.
-Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.
-Strong grasp of configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and/or Salt.
-Familiarity with storage systems.
-Proficient understanding of the Linux network stack, TCP and UDP, and Multicast.
-Experience with virtualization technologies, such as KVM, VmWare.
-Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
-Must be motivated, dependable, and responsible.
*Looking for candidates from top tier universities with a strong GPA. PhD in mathematics, statistics, physics or engineering is preferred. Will consider candidates who have a Master's degree along with work experience.
